To deeply integrate into the regional economic and trade development opportunities of the SCO, implement the work arrangements of “helping more enterprises sell their products and supporting more enterprises to go global,” seize the opportunities in the Central Asian infrastructure market, and expand Liaocheng’s space for opening-up and cooperation, from July 29 to 31, the Liaocheng economic and trade delegation visited Kyrgyzstan and successively held two special trade and investment promotion activities in Bishkek and Karabalta City, precisely building a bridge for Sino-Kyrgyz government-enterprise matchmaking and helping local enterprises develop the Central Asian market.
On July 29, the China (Liaocheng)—Kyrgyzstan Trade and Investment Symposium was successfully held in Bishkek. The event was hosted by Wang Lingfeng, Deputy Director of the Liaocheng Municipal Bureau of Commerce. Sanjar Duikanov, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Sheng Yudong, President of the Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Kyrgyzstan, attended the event. A total of 11 key enterprises from Liaocheng and 80 key enterprises from Kyrgyzstan participated, with over 110 Chinese and foreign guests gathering to connect and discuss cooperation.
In his speech, Sanjar Duikanov extended a warm welcome to the Liaocheng economic and trade delegation. He stated that China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbors with close economic and trade exchanges, and have maintained a stable partnership for a long time. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan will fully leverage its role as a bridge and link, continuously optimize trade matching services, facilitate two-way cooperation channels, provide comprehensive support for Liaocheng enterprises to engage in trade, investment, and project implementation in Kyrgyzstan, and promote the normalized, long-term, and high-quality development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Wang Lingfeng gave a special presentation on the city and its industries, providing a comprehensive introduction to Liaocheng’s geographical advantages, sound industrial system, supportive opening-up policies, and overall layout for cooperation with Central Asia. He pointed out that Liaocheng has a solid foundation in the real economy, with prominent advantages and abundant production capacity in characteristic industrial clusters such as green building materials, steel structures, commercial passenger vehicles, and new energy equipment. These can precisely match the development needs of Kyrgyzstan in areas such as urban construction, transportation upgrades, and livelihood projects. He expressed the hope that this symposium would serve as an opportunity to tap into new opportunities for two-way investment and trade, and to deepen the normalized economic and trade exchanges between the two regions. During the matchmaking session, key enterprises from Liaocheng engaged in face-to-face consultations and precise, point-to-point matchmaking with companies from Kyrgyzstan in fields such as construction engineering, commercial circulation, equipment procurement, and new energy development. The exchange was held in a warm atmosphere, ultimately resulting in over 40 cooperation intentions in areas such as overseas project contracting, overseas investment, and trade in goods.
On July 31, the China Liaocheng-Kyrgyzstan Kara-Balta Investment Cooperation Symposium was successfully held at the Kara-Balta City Hall, focusing on deepening specialized cooperation in the fields of green building materials and infrastructure. Kara-Balta Mayor Isakov Almazbek and Deputy Mayor Orozbakov Emir attended the event, along with the Liaocheng economic and trade delegation and representatives from 6 key local enterprises in the infrastructure and building materials sectors.
Isakov Almazbek provided a detailed introduction to the development overview, key construction projects, and preferential investment policies of Kara-Balta. He stated that the city is currently making every effort to advance urban renewal, road construction, industrial park development, and other infrastructure projects. With a robust demand in the building materials market, he expressed a strong desire to establish a long-term and stable communication and cooperation mechanism by leveraging Liaocheng’s complete building materials supply chain and mature engineering support advantages, so as to achieve a government-enterprise partnership and mutual benefit.
Wang Lingfeng gave a special presentation on the advantages of Liaocheng’s green building materials industry, its production capacity and supporting capabilities, and practical experience in overseas projects. He stated that the foundation for economic and trade cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan is solid, and that the urbanization of Kara-Balta holds enormous potential for cooperation. He looks forward to taking this negotiation as an opportunity for both sides to deepen pragmatic cooperation in multiple fields, such as building materials import and export trade, joint infrastructure construction, and two-way investment in factory establishment. During the event, enterprises from both sides held in-depth consultations on subdivided businesses such as product export, local factory establishment, and engineering support. They also conducted on-site visits to local projects under construction, carrying out detailed research on building material procurement standards, market conditions, construction support, and the business environment to accurately grasp the front-line market demand and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent implementation of projects. This negotiation reached multiple consensuses on building material exports, joint infrastructure construction, and two-way investment, with a clear commitment to building a long-term economic and trade exchange platform to steadily promote the implementation and effectiveness of various cooperative projects.
The series of economic and trade negotiation activities is an important practice for Liaocheng to proactively expand the Central Asian market and help enterprises “go global.” In the next step, the Liaocheng Municipal Bureau of Commerce will continue to follow up on the negotiation outcomes of the two events, keep a close watch on the implementation and conversion of various cooperation intentions, orders, and projects, promote regular exchanges and interactions between the governments and enterprises of Liaocheng and Kyrgyzstan, continue to deeply cultivate key areas such as green building materials, equipment manufacturing, cross-border trade, and infrastructure construction, continuously deepen the two-way investment and trade cooperation between Liaocheng and Kyrgyzstan, and continuously expand the new pattern of the city’s opening-up.
