Recently, the expert audit team from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) of Malaysia visited Shandong Kehuan Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. to carry out the official on-site factory audit. After multi-dimensional, high-standard and full-process on-site inspection and comprehensive evaluation by the expert group, our company successfully passed this CIDB factory audit and obtained an important “passport” to enter the Malaysian engineering market.
What is CIDB? How Valuable Is This “Passport”?
CIDB is the competent authority for the construction industry in Malaysia, a statutory official agency established in accordance with the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Act 1994 to supervise and manage the development of the national construction industry. Under this Act, no local or foreign contractor is allowed to undertake construction works in Malaysia without CIDB registration. The supply and application of construction materials and equipment are also subject to its supervision.More importantly, CIDB product certification and factory audit services are implemented by professional certification bodies accredited by the Department of Standards Malaysia under the international standard ISO/IEC 17065. Auditors hold strict qualification requirements. They conduct checks covering on-site inspection, factory assessment and product sampling. Extremely high requirements are imposed on manufacturers in terms of production infrastructure, process control, quality system, document compliance and contract fulfillment capacity. Many applicants need multiple rounds of rectification and repeated submissions before getting approved.
Thanks to its high entry threshold, stringent standards and strong international credibility, CIDB certification is widely recognized in the industry as one of the most valuable qualifications for overseas material and equipment suppliers to enter the Malaysian market. Once certified, enterprises can be included in the approved vendor list of local general contractors and become eligible to bid for government and private engineering procurement projects. It also serves as a core reference for project owners and general contractors to select suppliers, and acts as a key credential to join the supply chain of oil & gas and infrastructure projects in Malaysia and even Southeast Asia. Rigorous and Orderly On-site Audit
During the audit, the expert team visited our production workshops, physical and chemical testing laboratories, raw material and finished product warehouses. They inspected the whole production procedures and process control details of steel pipes on site, and verified the qualifications of personnel engaged in key processes such as welding and non-destructive testing. Subsequently, they checked raw material incoming traceability records, production process parameters, factory test reports, equipment maintenance logs, quality system documents and compliance materials item by item, and conducted evaluation in strict accordance with CIDB specifications.
In audit communication sessions, department heads of our company actively responded to inquiries from the expert team, and systematically presented our production control procedures, quality traceability system and overseas order delivery plans. The expert group fully recognized our tidy and standardized production site, closed-loop quality management system and complete technical documentation. The closing audit meeting formally confirmed that Shandong Kehuan Petroleum Equipment has successfully completed the CIDB on-site factory audit. This achievement comes from the long-term standardized management and joint efforts of all departments.

Shandong Kehuan Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. is located in Liaocheng, the famous Water City North of the Yangtze River.
